Know the limits of this template.
- A general U.S. starting point, not legal advice or an attorney-reviewed document. State rules and the facts of your transaction may require changes.
- Not for motor vehicles, boats, aircraft, real estate, firearms, animals, business assets requiring special filings, or other titled or regulated property.
- Not for installments, financed sales or a merchant’s standard consumer sale. No automatic “as is” warranty waiver is added.
- Required disclosures, taxes, warranties and consumer protections depend on the transaction and state. The linked Florida statutes are examples, not a choice of Florida law.

About this template
What should a personal property bill of sale include?
Include the buyer and seller’s legal names, a detailed item description, identifying number if available, condition, price, payment method and handover details. Only acknowledge payment and delivery if they actually happened.
Can I use this bill of sale for a car or boat?
No. Vehicles, boats and other titled or regulated property may require official forms, title transfers, disclosures or registration steps. This draft is limited to ordinary used personal items.
Does this template sell the item “as is”?
No blanket warranty waiver is inserted. You record the condition and any express promises, while applicable legal rights remain. Warranty-disclaimer rules differ, so seek state-specific guidance before adding an “as is” clause.
Does a bill of sale prove that payment cleared?
A signed acknowledgment records what the seller confirms. It is not bank verification. Keep independent proof of payment and sign only after full payment and handover for this version of the form.
